The Primordial Rigden thangka- designed down to the details by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, and meticulously painted by artist Cynthia Moku - hangs as the central image on the public shrine in Shambhala Centers world-wide. This booklet arose from the need to explain to visitors and other curious viewers, in simple language, why the thangka is there, and what it means. Generously illustrated throughout, the topics covered in this booklet include:
• the meaning of "Rigden" (general and specific)
• the Shambhala-Buddhist lineage
• the function of a shrine in a Shambhala Center
• the iconography of the thangka and its meaning
• the making of the thangka, prints, and film
Available for Shambhala Centres and Groups in multiples of 20. The cost is €50/20 booklets +tax. Centres and Groups can sell them for €4-5 each.
